1991 Twenty Cent (20c) Platypus Silver Proof Coin in Original Capsule - Ex Masterpieces in Silver Set

Issued by the Royal Australian Mint as part of the 1991 Masterpieces in Silver - 25 Years of Decimal Currency collection, this sterling silver proof coin reproduces the iconic Australian 20 Cent design in precious metal format. Originally released only within the complete eight-coin set, these coins were produced to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Australian decimal currency.

The reverse features the classic Platypus design by Stuart Devlin that appeared on Australia's circulating 20 Cent coin. The obverse bears the third portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the King George IV State Diadem. The portrait was designed by Raphael David Maklouf.
